FAQ

Common questions about colocation

01 What is server colocation?

Server colocation means housing your own physical servers in a third-party datacentre facility. You own and manage the hardware; we provide the rack space, power, cooling, physical security, and internet connectivity.

02 How much space can I get?

We offer colocation from a single rack unit (1U) right up to full cabinet racks and private caged suites. Whether you need space for one server or an entire infrastructure deployment, we can accommodate your requirements.

03 Can I only colocate one server?

Yes — you can colocate as little as a single server with us. We offer colocation from a single rack unit upwards, so there is no minimum requirement beyond one unit.

04 What connectivity options are available?

Both our London and Manchester facilities are carrier-neutral, giving you access to multiple tier-1 and tier-2 providers. Our London site offers direct LINX and LONAP internet exchange connectivity, while Manchester includes access to LINX Manchester.

05 Can your team perform physical tasks on my servers?

Yes — our remote hands service lets our on-site engineers carry out physical tasks on your behalf, including server reboots, cable management, media swaps, hardware installations, and visual inspections.

06 What power redundancy is in place?

Our facilities use N+1 and 2N uninterruptible power supply (UPS) configurations with diesel generator backup, ensuring your infrastructure remains online through any power event.

07 Can I visit my servers?

Yes, customers can request access to their colocated equipment. You will need to be registered in advance and follow the datacentre's access control procedures. Our team can arrange escorted access when required.

08 Can I use BGP with my colocation service?

Yes — BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) sessions are included with all colocation services. Whether you need to announce your own IP space or connect to multiple upstream providers, we fully support BGP peering as standard.
